第二，不要一遇到生詞就查詞典，要學會猜詞。如果一遇到生詞就查詞典，這樣會影響閱讀速度。另一方面，一個單詞往往會有許多意思，有時不聯系文章特定的情景，很難確定生詞的確切含義。學生們可以根據上下文和構詞法等規則去大膽地猜這個生詞在文中可能是什么意思。如能猜中詞意，那么學生會對閱讀英文文章興趣倍增，會有成就感，這樣對提高英語水平非常有益。
